Batman Miniature Game AAR – Bane vs Suicide Squad

Waller´s orders this evening were clear. Project X should get their hands on a Venom probe. Get in, steal the venom and get out with it again. A quiet simple plan disregarding the fact that Bane and his mercenaries were the ones defending the Venom… But its “Suicide Squad” for a reason.

Its been a while since I last played Batman Miniatrure Game (or BMG from now on) and since Knight Models dropped the 2nd edition shortly we thought about getting back in the game and write an aar.

We decidet to go with a reputation value of 300 and not using any strategies to get back in the game easy.

Harley Quinn and Batgirl – Batman Miniature Game

Harley Quinn, Batgirl

the crazy and the good

Today I finished two of the girls for my Batman Miniature Game crews. Harley Quinn which either can be part of the Suicide Squad or a Sidekick for the Joker crew, and Batgirl which is the first support for my Batman crew. It was a pleasure to paint some brighter colours for a change. Both of them are nicely sculpted, but a bit difficult to paint. In Harleys case because of all the small details which are important to capture the character from the movie. With Batgirl on the other hand, mostly in blue and yellow, you have to be careful not to make her look like some toy.

Unboxing the Suicide Squad Game box – Batman Miniature Game

suicide-squadNa na na na na na na na Batman! Well I finally received my copy of the Suicide Squad game box, with the pre-order only Batman (Ben Affleck version). I really like the DC Comics universe, and since the miniatures from Knight Models are so nicely sculpted I waited a long time to get a nice two faction starter box for the Batman Miniature Game.

suicide squad_box contendThe Suicide game box is a bargain. It contains the full rulebook with some extra Suicide Squad missions, and the actual game pieces include 2 full colour card buildings, 4 card lamppost markers, 4 sewer markers, 8 “take the lead” counters, 7 mission objective markers and 4 six sided dice.

Now have a look at the miniatures. Included are 13 (in the case of the pre order version 14) nicely done metal miniatures, which are all sculpted to represent the characters of the Suicide Squad movie. You get two basic crews. On the one hand, there’s the Suicide Squad (obviously), which contains Deadshot, Slipknot, Killer Croc, Diablo, Harley Quinn, Katana and Cpt. Boomerang. On the other hand you get Joker’s crew, which consists of Joker and 5 henchmen (Goat Head Priest, Eyeball Man, Panda Man and Grin Twins). In my case I also got the free Batman miniature (the Ben Affleck version from the movie). To get some backup for him, I also ordered Batgirl as his sidekick.

All the miniatures are cast with a really high quality. Only the mould lines need some clean up, but overall they look almost like the movie cast. I will show the assembled and painted minis in later posts, which I will probably start with Batman. The bases, which are included, are pre-sculpted plastic ones. You just have to fill in the gaps where the miniatures are placed in the end.

Overall I can just recommend this box highly to anybody who thought about start playing the Batman Miniature Game. The content is really worth the price, and the quality is nice. You can get yourself a nice 2 fraction startup for the game for a reasonable price.

cheers
