Micro Art Studio started their Ambassador Program and Organised Play this year, and I was appointed ambassador for Leipzig, Germany. The program is mostly intended to bring in new players to Wolsung and give active ones a nice reason to maintain a campaign over a longer time period.
The first part, the Ambassador Program, lets players found embassies lead by an ambassador (obviously) to keep track about the games played, new players involved and how each embassy works compared to others. Each embassy collects points depending on how active the players work on the campaign and on “recruiting”. The points will then give the ambassador the oportunity to get cool stuff from Micro Art Studio.
The second part, the Organised Play, consists of a yearly campaign which is divided in quarters. In each quarter players fight out different missions given out by Micro Art. The best players here have the oportunity to get free minis each quarter and lots of free stuff at the end of the campaign each year.
So basically both parts play nicely together, giving the embassy and players the opportunity to collect lots of points.
We decided to play 2 hero based campaign games to give new players an easier start. Currently our embassy has the Triad of Lotus Dragon and Inventors ready for action. For me this means I have to decide which of my current 2 fractions (they already announced a new one coming this year which will make it three) I will take into the field in the Organised Play. I really enjoy playing both of them so this will not be an easy pick.
Ash and Oak club: Rich and arrogant aristocrats, they have a really straight forward play style which consists mostly of shooting and beating their way to the objective. They are quiet easy to play since you don’t have to consider the right amount and suit of cards to support them.
Ven Rier Agents: Cold undead heroes who are supported by zombies and gouls, and all things that are dead. This fraction is more difficult to play with but way more fun if plans come together. If. They can be a big pain in the ass but if you don’t get the right cards they also can be even more difficult to maintain. This is a mostly magical list. Only the henchmen here are pure combatants.
At the moment I think I will go with Ven Rier because the fun they provide. But for the moment I will make up a rough scetch on how we’ll play out the missions in the first quarter.
